Flower Pot Card

I made this card for the best Grandma ever. This Grandma just happens to be my Grandma. She will be 91 on March 21, 2011. About a month and a half ago I went to see my Grandma in the hospital and brought her flowers. When I left her that night she was sitting up putting lotion on her legs. Little did I know in a a very short 90 minutes her heart would stop 4 times! They got her heart started again and she spent a few days in ICU. She hasn't been the same since. She just recently in the last few days had to have a feeding tube put in because she can no longer swallow. This will have to be in for the rest of her life! She sleeps all the time now! For weeks I have blamed myself because I was one of the last people she seen before her heart stopped thinking maybe the flowers I brought her that night did it... I know this isn't the case but I keep asking why! I made this card for her, maybe she'll open her eyes long enough to see it!

This is the poem inside!
As children, we can't comprehend or fully realize the meaning of a grandmother's love. How wise she is, how much patience she has, or how much guidance she gives us by her example and by her helpful caring ways. Years go by before we know and understand the depth of her concern and the love in her protectiveness. But as we mature we do finally understand and we can look back and see through older eyes and wiser hearts her unconditional love, devotion, and family loyalty. It's these and many other things that make us realize how lucky we have been and how lucky we are to have this amazing woman - our grandmother - as the centered root of strength and love in our life.

Sadly my Grandmother never got to see this card. She passed away the day after I made it on 3/3/11 at 9:15pm. I wrote a letter in it to her and placed it in her casket. She is now buried with this card! I love her so much and will miss her but she is no longer suffering!
